Health-ier banana split – breakfast treat
allergy free, biggest looser, food, gluten free, breakfast, banana split
Here is a yummy and somewhat healthy breakfast treat that a friend introduced me to from the Biggest Loser Club.
Biggest Loser or not, we all enjoyed it as you can see!
You need bananas, yogurt, chocolate syrup and nuts (if desired) and/or granola (for a NON-gluten free version). I left the nuts and granola out due to food allergies.
Going going- I’ll be back!
Okay so it is snowing today and I’m feeling a bit humbug.
I will be back though. I’ve got a few ideas/ recipes to share but at the moment they are stuck on the hard drive of a rogue computer. Grrr!
Until then come visit me at Blog Schmog. Submit your adventures in turning lemons into lemonade on Friday for Fu-get ABout it Fridays (F.A.B.)! Fab in the “Fabulous I’m getting another cup of coffee before I tie myself to a rocket headed for the moon” kind of Friday. Is anyone out there that can relate? Its where moms, grandmas, dad’s, grads (anyone really) unite to laugh in the face of permanent marker art and mom jeans!
Portraits of Fun-Lookin Back on the Past Year
These are a few of my favorite things!
Here is Thing One and his look alike pumpkin…
Here is Thing One’s Portrait of his baby sister (now one year old-my how the time flies) and I on her 1 week birthday…
Here are three of my favorite things; leaves, the color green and my little buddy “Bubba”…
And here is one of my favorite pictures of Thing Two. He and his older brother got these headlamps for their birthday and while Grammy and Papa were visiting he disappeared. No one could find him anywhere, we were calling and looking, trying not to panic. Finally after a good half hour his Grammy found him asleep with the headlamp on under the guest bed! Gotta love the boy…
More Piggies!
Pee Wee finally has long enough hair for pig tails! This could get out of hand really fast!
She is also big enough to sneak off and eat a bowl full of cat food. Ha ha, what fun!
Gotta go for now.
TGIF
For Kathryn
I’m going on a little field trip with the boys. We plan to drive out tomorrow morning to Philipsburg MT and then we will explore a nearby ghost town.
I spent the day as the day before a trip should be spent, doing laundry and reading a book my friend told me I had to read!
I resisted slightly when I saw it is a christian romance (I’m not big on those) but this book is insane! I can’t put it down.
So, I’ve got to get back to the book but for Kathryn, who I know loves kitty’s, here is Tiger Too in Davie’s seat….

The boys took their sisters seat outside and left it in the rain, hence the dirt and the kitty!
See you all next week!
Summer Slackin’
See I’m silly, do you suspect my serious compulsion?
I have a compulsion for words and I love alliteration!
That aside, I spent the time it takes to brew my morning coffee swatting flies! Why flies you ask? My darling Thinglets can not resist the great outdoors but since mom doesn’t cook during the summer they also can’t resist multiple trips indoors for a snack. During the summer I slack in the eating and the cleaning department, I reserve most of my cleaning rampages for the dreary days of winter. Please pay close attention to the word MOST as I am not good at practicing what I preach!
The result is a summer slackin’ mamma, several snackin saps and a serious amount of smackin’ stinkin’ segmented sailing suckers!
Since I’ve been a regular participator in Linda’s weekly blog carnival, previously “What’s for Dinner Wednesday” I decided I couldn’t let down the troops so this week I don’t have a recipe but more of a slackers gluten free survival map!
Never fear though, I will be back soon with full tummy recipes since in the Northwest summer is but a passing fancy! We have guests this week and I plan to bring you my brother in law’s (Lil Sis’ Hubby) “Famous Fish Taco” recipe. So tune in next week!
In the mean time-
Gluten Free Goof’s Slacker’s Survival Map:
The first stop is my sock drawer! No I don’t have any science experiments brewing in there just a “treasure map” of sorts that helps me get my head out of the clouds when it comes time to eat! Food preparation is one area that I am somewhat of a procrastinator. I am not confident, I am picky and yet I have grand ideas that often flop (unless my hubby is helping- he is an uninhibited cook)! Sooo, it helps me to have a simple plan to fall back on and yet not be bound to!
Sounds much too complicated for FOOD! For crying out loud those six mouths are simply six pie holes!
After I have fished out my treasure map I wistfully make a paper airplane out of it and send it sailing off of the deck, past the pigs, the horses, and the vegetable garden where I am reminded there are numerous summertime
treasures we don’t get to enjoy everyday! Second stop, garden of weedin where we get our veggies fix’!
If there is extra time and I want to impress the rats I might stop by the BBQ on the way back to the house and create a dish for the critics!
When there is no extra time my map ends up as fuel for the barbecue and I whip up my go to summer meal complete with Sweet Baby Ray’s drizzly grin!
Occasionally I forget the whole thing and let my seven year old create his own masterpiece!
So in case there is any question, my treasures are featured all over this page! No need for maps or compasses my husband and I have been thoroughly blessed with the four adorable children God has trusted us with!
Psalm 127:3-5
3Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
Aaarg, I hope you’ve enjoyed this treasure hunt, come back next week for a seriously good installment of Linda’s new and improved “What Can I Eat That’s Gluten Free” and don’t forget to visit the others this week!
My Tootsies

What? A tootsies picture for I Heart Faces! Ha ha! I was excited about this theme because I am able to share one of my all time favorite photos of all four kids! From left to right; Bubba (2), Thing 1 (7), PeeWee (1wk here) and the imfamous Thing 2 (5). I took about thirty shots in the 5 minutes that they fairly cooperated and happily got one out of the bunch! This was taken before PeeWee was even a week old. I will cherish it forever

Lest you go away thinking, “Her boys are so well behaved” I will include a little playful proof otherwise along with some mother to mother (parent to parent) encouragement in the form of one of my un-recipes to keep things real.

Playing “Tars”
I thought it would be fun to join in on Macro Monday’s at Lisa’s Chaos. Bubba will kick off the fun this week with a car and his big blue eyes!

Saturday’s Surprise: Rasberries!
I wasn’t going to post today but I had a little surprise in the garden and I couldn’t wait to share it with you!

RASPBERRIES!
They are green still but I’m so thrilled because these were transplanted from my mothers raspberry patch this (yes I said THIS) spring! Can you believe they are producing?
PeeWee spotted one and…
We did several different transplants and the ones that were planted with long wooden stems (that looked spent) produced leaves first and now raspberries in their very first season at our place! Yipee!
I did remember in my “mom brain” archives learning that rasberries fruit on old wood. Now I have the proof or a miracle but either way…thanks Mom!
Oops, she got one!
Pink
I’ve been known on occasion to exclaim emphatically that I hate something someone in close proximity absolutely adores. The color pink has often been the victim of my scrutiny so I thought it would be a good idea to come clean on the issue and give you a little peek into a true color of my daily existence. Some days!
Ha ha, just kidding- sorta!

I just love her little bald noggin!

Can you believe someone would do this to her little girl’s toes?

That’s better! Here she is going “green” with a fresh “Pinocchio nose”, what a fab fashion accessory.

Mom must have gone crazy, I think the sun is getting to her!

Oh dear, definitely the sun!

Speaking of sun, the poppies are doing quite well and in such a beautiful shade!

Okay, I had to sneak in a little orange but PeeWee is DONE! I can’t resist taking pictures of her mad faces!

Even though I’m not as opposed to pink as I like people to think, if you plan to bring me flowers, these are my favorite kind. WEEDS! Yellow, sunny, happy, WEEDS! Thank you thing 1, you light up my life!
