Okay every time I read your blog I wish we lived closer! Hope that doesn’t sound weird but your comments always make me think we would get along great! Kudos on #89 and not killing someone! Too funny!

Ha ha, I’ve often felt that way when reading and chatting with some of my favorite bloggers, it’s not wierd at all!

100! Very cool. You are an interesting gal. Jessie, NOT Jessica. 🙂

One whole winter, no working potty??? AND pregnant? That takes talent.

    Very good list. Love it.

Ha ha, funny you put it that way, when I was little I would introduce myself this way, “Hi I’m Jessie, not Jessica I live at 813 ~~~ downtown are you a stranger!”

  • 5. Carrie  |  July 15, 2009 at 1:45 am

OOOOH!! My first was born in hospital, too, my second two at home attended by midwives (and if we ever get to again, we’d definitely choose home!)

I’m glad you survived CA, too. That’s another on my (long) list of places to not live.

And Ive done the “rustic” no running water thing, too. Not fun, but it got us where we wanted to be. . . out of debt. . . for a time anyway!

    And, congrats on your 100th non-blog post. 🙂 Wonder if you’ll do 200 for your 200th non-post?

    • 10. glutenfree4goofs  |  July 20, 2009 at 11:19 am

200!!! Ha, I’m not THAT exciting.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. Nice to “meet” you! I did a 100 things post on my 100th post awhile back. What curriculum do you use to homeschool. We’re in our 3rd year (my daughter is going into 2nd grade) and I’m trying to see what all my options are, and get people’s opinions. I did a post asking people to link up with their homeschool curriculum. If you’ve posted that or plan to I’d love for you to link up. Thanks!

Stumbled in here because of the Mustang [it came up on google images]. Liked your list – cant imagine the no running water/no potty thing though! LOVE the dog. Might make a friendly suggestion tho that you re-read Acts 2:38, Matthew 16:16 etc. Faith alone does not save. And you’re worth saving!!!

Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you like my mustang and Willamina!

On your suggestion, I’m not seeing a contradiction. Here is Acts 8

“I mean that you have been saved by grace through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God.9 It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it.10 God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to live our lives doing.”

I hope I didn’t imply that I am saved by my own effort but by the grace of God and by the renewing of my spirit. Neither verse you mentioned contradicts this, only adds to the benefits we have in knowing Christ. When we are baptised we receive the Holy Spirit. When we believe that Jesus is Lord we are allowed the choice to follow him. Do you not agree?

Sourdough Update

Many of you have been checking back for results on my sourdough creation. At the moment it is still a science experiment, but a happy, bubbly experiment. Never fear, recipes will be here! I did make a beautiful, moist and delicious loaf of sourdough using yeast and a myriad of other ingredients but I'm still trying to create something more user friendly. Wouldn't it be awesome to have a starter on the counter that you could add 4 things to and have a loaf of bread by dinner? Mmmm! Attempt #1 - rose well but resulted in a dense chewy blob Attempt #2 - rose ok but was thin and lifeless then fell and another dense (not so chewy) blob Attempt #3 - to the dogs! Attempt #4 - A sourdough pancake success see post under what's for breakfast gluten-free goof? Ongoing - I've tried several more times and am going to try a completely different approach on the bread starting this week. (Mar 18). My sourdough is still happy on my counter and it makes great pancakes but it's a lot of work just for pancakes. Keep checking! April Update: She is still kickin and I'm still workin on a yeast free, gluten free sourdough loaf! May Update: My sourdough "pet" has been dried and retired until next baking season. I've traded her in for a hotter model, the BBQ! :)
